“ASQ,” “American Society for Quality,” “Certified Quality Inspector,” “CQI,” and “Body of Knowledge” are trademarks or service marks of the American Society for Quality. Other product and standard names (ISO, IATF, ASME Y14.5, and similar) belong to their owners. They appear here only to identify the exam and the shop practices it covers.

What this site is

CQI Academy is unofficial study material written for people preparing for the Certified Quality Inspector exam. It is a private resource: chapters, a glossary, formula sheets, drills, flashcards, a timed mock, and a hidden practice game. It is not an ASQ publication, not the CQI Handbook, and not the exam.

Official sources

Eligibility, fees, exam windows, calculator rules, open-book limits, and the current Body of Knowledge are set by ASQ (American Society for Quality) and can change. Confirm them on asq.org/cert/quality-inspector (testing logistics on prometric.com/asq; pass rates on the grading FAQ). If anything here disagrees with ASQ, ASQ wins. Fees and pass rates on this site were last checked 16 September 2026: exam about $460 non-member, members save $100 on the first attempt, retake about $260. CQI pass rates published by ASQ: 60% (2022), 64% (2023), 60% (2024). Scaled passing score 550 of 750.

Study items and copyright

Practice questions on this site are original study items for learning. They are not copied from live ASQ exams and are not “real exam questions.” Do not treat a drill score as a prediction of your cut score. Do not submit these notes as ASQ work product.

You may use this site for personal study. You may not scrape it, resell the question bank, or present it as official ASQ training.

SPEC FIGHT

SPEC FIGHT is an unofficial bonus game that uses quality-inspection and shop-math questions. It is entertainment with a study twist. It is not part of the ASQ exam, not a certification activity, and not required to use the academy.

Ads and recommended tools

Drills, flashcards, and the timed mock do not carry display ads. Home, the packing list, and the certificate chapter may name the handbook and a non-programmable calculator, with links to the publisher or a product search. Those links are not an ASQ endorsement.

No warranty

The material is offered as-is, without a promise that it is complete, current, or enough to pass. Inspection work can be safety- and contract-critical. Use drawings, calibrated equipment, and your shop’s procedures — not this site — when you stamp a part. The operator of this site is not liable for a failed exam, a bad call on the floor, or damages that follow from using these pages.
